2024-07-26 - Be brave when the journey is rough

It was a quiet moment for Auth, realising how generous people could be.

They had so far just scoffed at the necessary duties the weyr held towards those known as "holders", they hadn't understood why Mother spent so much time thinking on them. Even though they still didn't completely grasp everything, with this clear thoughtful gesture from so many Auth felt they understood a bit more now. These holders were people too, just as valuable as dragons and those in the weyr. They were just a little different. They had lives and families, they had hopes and dreams. And it was the weyr's duty to protect them so that they could live.

Auth was glad to realise this before they hatched, glad to reflect on their previous misconceptions and adjust their view. Kindness was an attribute they would cultivate, and one they would search for in a partner.
