The Touching was fast approaching and new candidates were soon to find themselves confronted with many eggs and many personalities. Auth's egg was not among the grandest of the clutch, so it probably wouldn't stand out as one of the more enticing ones. All the same, it sat nestled comfortably among it's siblings and waited.

You Don't Know Where You Are, but You Are Free and Guided by Polaris was a small egg and quite elongated in shape. It usually leant to one side or another, unable to maintain any true equilibrium by itself. It was a bruised sky amongst it's brighter siblings. Blues rippled across it's shell and changed smoothly to greens and purples along the way. At the top most point there flashed a bright streak that would remind anyone who looked upon it of lightning in a heavy storm.

After the earthquake, Polaris was one of the lucky eggs that wasn't too badly damaged. It had some superficial scratches on it's shell, but the most prominent change to it's form was a rather large concaved dent on one side. This happened when Gwillanth crushed her eggs to her chest and Polaris had been caught between her and stone. With such an impairment, the dragon within Polaris had suffered some stunting of their growth. They had less room to move and grow, and would no doubt hatch even smaller than expected and with some muscle weakness. Only time would tell how this might affect their future.

If any of the candidates chose to approach Polaris they would feel an immediate sense of being watched. Within that bruised and beaten egg held a dragon with a sharp mind and a determined heart. Auth would judge as equally as they themselves were judged, whether the candidates approved or not.

Auth had been growing more impatient and uncomfortable as time went on. The prospect of candidates was intriguing to them, though they were still unsure if they liked the idea of being bonded to one of these humans at all. They were prepared to feel many minds pass through the clutch and were at least glad of this upcoming distraction.

On first touching Auth's mind, the candidates may not feel very much at all. They may even wonder if this egg was inhabited. But that's because Auth is all or nothing, and until they assess who you are, you will not be given the chance to know them. If they choose to connect with any of the candidates their mind will feel like a great expanse cascading down upon them. It will be a flood washing over them, enveloping and probing into every corner. It will be intense and overwhelming with a strange neutrality until Auth decides whether or not to remove the distance between them both.
If Auth chooses to speak, it will be for a purpose. If they do not, the candidate will be left wondering why they were given only a glimpse of the richness of that inner world.
