2024-07-25 - Family and Bonding - 8.5

Myrcelleth does not tire of snooping. It gives the opportunity to distract from errant thoughts and the many minds gawking at him, so he takes it with glee and gusto. Why would he not, after all, look at the life that is expected of him. So this time he meanders his way to eavesdropping on a green, for this is what he knew himself to be. Small, but this one is plenty fierce, plenty to admire. Why would he not, after all, hear what this green has to say about bonding.

Secretly, they hoped to find someone, anyone with the same mindset to him outside of his fellow siblings. This is not what they find. At all. They find chaos between family, with parents dismissing their beloved other green and rider fiercely standing by her. They find the same bite that he had given those candidates, now directed at protecting a bond rather than trying to prevent it.

Bonding as family. This was certainly a new way of looking at it. Not one Myrcelleth knew what to make of, but he hoped to understand. Just taking in someone as family, as another of their clutch mates, that sounded so much nicer than the myriad of expectations that were placed upon them beforehand. That unwavering belief, that unwavering love - was that just a part of a bond or is this a choice that he can make? A decision and practice to take up. Either way - he does find himself hoping that someone believes in him nearly the same as this green believes in her bond.
