The confrontation Outside and above was so full of vitriol that even far below and safely ensconced in his egg Haozieth could almost taste the white hot fury of the green's mind.

Like the easily bored baby he was he immediately started listening in and what he heard made him so mad that his egg visibly rocked. How dare that loathesome bronze human act like dragons were mere animals! Animals were food Mother's memories were very clear on that front. Dragons hunted animals! They ate them!

And to imply that it was not the choice of the dragon who to share their life with made him want to hatch then and there just so he could run up the stairs and bite the fools as hard as he could on the flanks!

Dragons he had learned from Mother, had very big and very sharp teeth.

The green had chosen how she had felt was right and no one had any right to refute that! Before he could continue building up a head of steam another thought stopped him dead in his tracks.

Would there be those who would argue with his choice?

That warranted thinking on. How was he to protect his future bonded and choose who he wanted if someone did object? Surely the bigger dragons and their bonded would help? Maybe? At least Mother would, he was sure if that. And if he found himself in the green's position after they had bonded... Well he wouldn't be opposed to giving any interfering parties a push in the right direction.
