Issrodeth had awoken! This joyous news was tempered by the off-key, grating notes of Igith's ranting. Ilrioth had never thought they would prefer silence to noise, but when the silence was sweet and the noise was harsh, well, it was hardly a competition. As noted before, this new place was much louder, the voices and their owners nearer than they had been on the Hatching Sands.
This particular rant apparently had something to do the pair Valyth and Dei’r, who were the 'Weyrleaders'. The names were as unfamiliar as the title - an idea perhaps caught in passing, but never fully realized. Whatever it was, it sounded like one of those 'being alive in a complicated endeavor' things, which were not a favorite of his.
Igith seemed quite derisive and proud in her mindset, while Issrodeth sounded more reasonable and, perhaps, a bit resigned. Queens and Weyrleaders, Flights and Choices. Ilrioth did not envy these golds and their burdens. Not when they made the elder queen sound so worn down, or drew such notes of unease from the younger. And the Weyrleaders so chosen? While he did not know much of their minds, their responsibilities sounded like no token.
Well, each life marched to the beat of their own drum. Ilrioth was fairly certain his did not march the way of the Weyrleader, and he was quite content in that.
