2024-07-19 - New Sensations

Once the chaos of the the unplanned move outside the cavern settled into their new predicable patterns, Jinth mentally explored his new surroundings. The warmth out here was different from the uniform covering of the cavern. It was brighter for one, this new darkness he found himself in. In the cave everything was uniform, little varied from night to day. The darkness was evenly dark and warm, what he needed to survive.

Out here in this new place it was still warm enough, though he had to go through cold to get there. That was something new, cold. He saw the concept in the minds of the adults around him, but had never experienced it himself until he was flown to the new nest. He wasn’t sure what to make of cold, yet. He would have to experience it some more to study it and decide what to do with it.

And the darkness changed out here too. Here it could be various shade of less-dark at times, but never the total darkness he had lived in up to that point. He was getting to see better what those adult mind images meant when they were passing between the adults. The things he saw could be really there, waiting for him to come look at them himself.

He revealed in the sensations, learning new things every day about the world outside his shell. This will be a fun place to explore, once he was ready to enter it.
