Someone was there? It wasn't one of the usual people that came to visit the eggs, no, it was a newer mind, one of the visitors from the touching, they thought. What were they doing? Why were they being sneaky.

Challeanoth was pretty sure that candidates weren't supposed to be in here without supervision. Should they alert someone? It wasn't like mother would hear if they called, but maybe the strange cousin?

Well, it didn't seem as if the girl meant any harm, for the moment, so perhaps they didn't need to. They would wait, and watch.

She seemed to have a purpose in mind for the visit, paying attention to several of their clutchmates. Attempting to influence them. Interesting.

But why did she want gold so strongly.

She'd ask if she thought that she'd get an answer, but the girl had no interest in their shell. Probably for the best, Challeanoth didn't think that she'd suit at all.

There's more to life than power, she whispers, sending the thought in the breeze in the hopes that perhaps the girl might hear. And you do not need gold to have it.
