Yuakajth is at once so much quieter than Gwillanth-mother and so much louder.
Courth listens despite himself, own mind quiet in sheer bewilderment. This was who she had chosen? This was the sort of person Issrodeth had talked about having to choose over ‘love’? The other half she’d decided to give them to base themselves off? He despairs.
In glory the ballads say. The loveliest dragon they have ever seen they say – whoever thinks the latter hasn’t seen another dragon.
Actually meeting Yuakajth is another in the long, seemingly endless list of reasons to will himself as much as he could to not have a bronze hide. This dragon brings nothing to the table except the maybe interesting flashes of training ideas. There's no interesting complications, thoughts of helping the weyr or improving the world. What should they care for retellings of how he’d won the flight? For his interest in them only for it they could be strong or beautiful? Gwillanth’s choice when the bronze has forgotten an entire rank of dragons she selected her beloved from…
Courth turns his mind away eventually and hunkers away before Yuakajth can take whatever it is the adults feel from them as interest, and wills his cells to colour differently.
