Like moths to a flame
They keep buzzing around
Drawn to the light
They might burn themselves to nothing

What do they want? All sorts of things.
Perhaps they hope there is something
For everyone here.
Perhaps they just hope they can get away from their peers.
They want to fight Thread
Or perhaps just go to bed.

Certainly that's what everyone wants when it's over,
The candidates, their minders,
The eggs, Shayled, The Mother.

But it's so hard to just drift to sleep, when the inevitable question is begged:
Just what, exactly,
Did the candidates truly see
Of the occupants in the eggs?
