The humans wanted them
They needed the humans.
This was something Rioth understood, and a thing she knew with her whole being. She did not need to be told. It was as certain as her very first feelings - that Gwillanth was Mother and Mother was good.
She had not quite shaken the idea of bonding to "the wrong one," even if the details of the fight between blue dragon and green had since blurred and ran together in favor of what she had taken away from that event. Was there such a thing as a wrong one? What if the Person for her wasn't here, yet?
And with her heart in her throat and excitement and dread pounding in her chest, she threw open her mind and allowed the humans entry.
There was a reverent and almost serene matter about the process outside. They were all here for her, and Rioth basked in the realization, if only for a small moment.
Gwillanth may be one to fear if you crossed her or Rioth and her siblings - but they were simply eggs. They might have well have been meeting their bonded; this was a happy occasion! Intimidation was for later.
"Hello, everyone!" It was a welcoming and melodic trill. "Please do not be shy. We are here. And I want to see you all!"
--
Immediately, the Magician struck Rioth's mind; she wanted so much, wanted with such force and power that Rioth found herself reaching back towards the human in mind and in body. The little dragon understood this feeling, and whispered an, "I can help," before allowing her to move on.
The High Priestess and the Hierophant passed, earning a flicker of curiosity and a little hum each but nothing more; the Emperor had lingered upon her egg and she knew he was focusing on the shiny parts.
"Do not look at that, look at me." Was a sharper command than she had intended, laden with the frustration of everything she'd come to learn about metallics. He'd move on, and Rioth elected to believe it was her doing. She didn't like that one at all.
But the Empress...
That Magician had appealed to that longing and wanting that was tucked within the core of the little dragon, but the Empress knew what she wanted. She had what she wanted, surrounded by each of these shining humans, ready and eager to look after them and coax and encourage the best from each.
Was she here for the eggs, or just to look after the rest?
If it was the latter, Rioth reasoned, it shouldn't matter anymore once a dragon found her.
