2024-07-15 - 7.1.2- The Lovers

The slow reveal of the Lovers as a pair intrigues Diath more than anything else. The way their thoughts line up, similar but distinctly, how they share all that they are, that they feel, that they experience. Similar already to the bonds it's witnessed, in a very human way. The way they both fear being parted.

One comes as near as any can, a hand on it's shell, and beneath his attention on it, his desire to learn each and every one of them between the pair before the fateful day, it feels his fear that he'll be left. That he'll be alone.

It's like the first time hearing an echo.

Reaching out, it's mind crashing cold against his, catching bright on exposed edges, it offers no words, no questions, but a deep, steadfast understanding.

He doesn't speak of the To School In the Deep Sea egg to his other half as they go.

Diath hopes they both get want they want.
