There are many candidates drawn to the Layers of Time in a Canyon Wall Egg, since it is wiggling so fiercely, like it's trying to hatch already. The sand has been piled high around it, at least at the start of the Touching, to the point where only the top of the dented shell is visible - clearly this was done in order to keep it from rolling right out of its wallow in the sand and causing chaos.

To the Tower
Well, hi there. You're having a rough time, huh? Kanyoth has only just met you, and therefore doesn't have any idea what your life is like, or how it could possibly get any worse. So hopefully it can't? Then again, Kanyoth is stuck in a bunch of grossness within this egg, and if she manages to hatch right now some of that grossness might get on you. So you may want to move somewhere else. She hopes at least some others in the clutch are nice to you though.
To Judgment
The awakening actually started some time before the earthquake, but yes, hi there, you're meeting all of them right now, obviously. Why are you so afraid of the hatching? Kanyoth is trying to hatch right now, so if the idea of hatching scares you that much you may want to go somewhere else. But back to Kanyoth's question: why are you scared? Are you scared of one of his siblings picking you to be their human? Or are you scared of no one picking you? Either way, Kanyoth's learned from all the other candidate minds he's interacted with so far today that there's been other hatchings some of the candidates here have been through before, and that there will be more hatchings in the future, after future clutches are laid. Though Issrodeth said she won't be rising this year. She didn't say it was on account of her condition, but that was the obvious implication. So Kanyoth guesses that it'll be one of Igith's clutches that hatches next? In any case, regardless of whether or not you get picked at this hatching or any other, Kanyoth fails to see how either or any of these possibilities is a world-shattering event like the earthquake was. Maybe he's missing something here. Maybe he isn't. But he doesn't think you should, or have to be, so afraid of what's to come.
To Justice
You're afraid of thinking about the earthquake, but there's a part of you that is also constantly thinking about the earthquake. Now, the latter part Kanyoth can understand on its own, but with the context of the former part they don't get it. Are you afraid of it happening again? No, that doesn't seem to be quite it. Are you afraid of it because you don't understand it? Kanyoth doesn't understand it either, but if they were terrified of everything they didn't understand they'd be paralyzed by fear, and as you can see they are the opposite of that, trying to hatch right now. They want to get out into the world and figure out stuff and do things. They don't know what it would take to figure out what caused the earthquake, but maybe they can provide some ... insight? Some intuition they have? This part isn't so much words as it is a feeling, a sense, the bone-deep knowing of someone whose heart has always been pressed close to the ground, which in Kanyoth's case is literally true. (With the exceptions of when they were bouncing around during the earthquake and of the one time they were picked up into the air by a green dragon whose name they don't know in the aftermath of earthquake.) The elemental knowing of the earth, of its might and power, its movement and changes, normally on a timescale far beyond the perception of humans and dragons, but still alive, so alive, its surface able to stretch and tense like the muscles just beneath skin and hide.
Kanyoth hopes they didn't scare you off with that.
To Temperance
Sorry, hold up. There's been literal songs written about this clutch? Or do you mean there's songs written about dragon clutches in general? Because she's pretty sure she's heard some (or maybe just the one) about those from the harper Jemeer. As for exultations, Kanyoth won't be giving any about herself until she's hatched. She is, in fact, trying to hatch right now. Would you mind helping? You could at least move some of this stupid sand that surrounds her out of the way.
To Strength
You might be the best man here. Respect. You don't need to feel so insecure about yourself. Have some self-respect. You deserve it.
To the Chariot
Kanyoth can admire being direct, knowing what you want and working to get it. But your attitude towards him is unimpressive. He is no ox to be beaten into submission. He is the Father and the Mother, the hard surface of the earth and its deep bowels, a beginning and ending all his own, his own self. If you can't accept that, you should leave, right now. Before Kanyoth bursts out of his egg and can start clawing you.
