2024-07-13 - The Tower at the end of the World

The departure of the last candidate brought something akin to relief to the mind of the young dragon.that one... Hmmm.

A new person touched his egg and at once he curled around her. If he had been outside the egg he would have done so physically instead of just mentally.

"Stay here with me, rest for a moment." He tries to keep his voice quiet to keep from hurting her further. He offers her the dragon dreams that their mother gave to the clutch. Dreams of flying far far away from the treacherous earth.

"We could do that together. Fly far away from this place, find somewhere safe to live. We can explore together, live our lives together. Surely in a world as big as your there are plenty of new things? We could go and see them, see all the wonderful reasons to live, truly live not just continue existing?"

It would pain him to give up the devil candidate but maybe just maybe the Tower was more important. After all the Devil knew the world was fun and full of joy. This one needed reminding, needed to have someone bring joy and music and dancing to her. And if there was one thing he was good at it was find joy and revealing in it.

"That is what we will do if you like. I will gatch and we will bond and I will bring you every joy and wonder Pern has to offer!"
