2024-07-13 - Song of Returning 4.4.2

The longing Mother had felt prior, though at the time deep and poignant, had faded in Ilrioth's conscious to a lingering background melancholy as the days passed. It was never quite forgotten, and in some moments it seemed deeper felt that others, but there was so much more happening that it was not the focus of his days. Therefore, when the Beloved Blue Pertemarth returned, the sudden jubilation that made Mother's star-self shine bright as a thousand yet-unseen suns, it took Ilrioth by surprise. But oh! What a joyful surprise it was! Gone were the grays of sadness, returned were the starshine colors of joy.

Beyond the emotions were gestures, words spoken of the time apart. While Ilrioth had little context for what was being said, it was nice to listen to all the same. The reunion was a ballad, a tribute to the feelings shared between blue and gold. These were different than what was shared between Mother and her Strange Mind, different even still from those between Mother and Father. These were purer, somehow, more true - as vast and truly indescribable as had once been the being within the egg's entire state of being. It was exhilarating to learn that there were things that could still feel that way, that, despite all the discoveries that had yet been made, that there were still so many more things to learn, to know, to grow into, to become.

Someday, it hopes, there is someone out there who will help complete its song and fill their own universe with belonging.
