A fight! A fight!
In the aftermath, Liorenth succumbs to a strange and very cold anger that is solely his own, and that he does not understand.
The heat of Ansith's rage had been so, all-consuming and so tempting. He had felt the rush of blood, hatred-rage, the sheer power of using his strength and fury to overpower a weaker dragon. Authority. Domination. The desire to hurt by any means possible - with claws, with teeth, with words. The use of words to probe a weak spot and rip and tear.
Liorenth had retreated in a kind of disgust. Not at the rage or the will to dominate, but because the two dragons were out of control. The fight would not stop if they were left alone. Not until one or both were ... it needed to be STOPPED. They must be stopped! The clutch was responding, some with fear, others fascination, and a few who shared his own strong call for the pair to be forcibly separated because they were out of control.
He felt it appropriate when the blue and brown intervened. If they had just stood by watched, those dragons would have killed each other maybe ... Sometimes, one must intervene. There is ... a duty to intervene, to save a life? Yes ...
He sits with his thoughts and his anger and picks through their fighting words. Much easier to understand the mindspeech of the older dragons now, even if he might wish otherwise. Words that hurt most - attacking the bonded riders, threats about flights. Weak riders bad? Hatch last bad? Choose badly? He does not understand all the meanings here and sulks - cold anger at the two dragons for losing control from what might otherwise have been quite an enervating fight.
