This isn't the first time Diath has felt a mind like this. There are many, many types of minds out there, she's learned- from the great, bright mind of Mother and those like her, to the faded minds of Shayled and her sort, and the less solid, more erratic minds of the small things that sometimes come and go. But this type of mind is less common, an oddity to shy from in the first moment and then slowly reach back out towards. She had only felt something similar the once before, as sharp and clear as any dragon but more raw, emotion and connection against polite distance and tended words.
Bisk is not Mother, but she is a mother, and isn't that something to realize. That the word is not restricted to gold. Idly, quiet Diath thinks, if she must, she would rather be 'mother' as Bisk is, with few words, all emotion and knowledge to give.
There is no change in tone as she speaks, but Diath would swear she can feel the meaning behind what she says as it all drifts along passed her mind.
Don't try to make yourself seem more than those around you.
Hold the earth as dearly as the sky.
The night (the cool, the dark-) was filled with life to be cherished.
Don't change the truth to hurt others, only to make the world better.
Learn kindness. Learn to love...
Diath doesn't know how to 'learn' love and kindness. She holds so much love already, but what Bisk means, the sense of it is different. The same but not the same as what thrums inside her with no effort. She's reminded of the others, making noise and reaching for each other when she had hidden away in fear. Is that what she means? Should Diath try to be more like them? The thought twists, tangles. She doesn't know. Don't hurt others, seems to be the base of it, to try to help...
She doesn't want others to hurt, she wants them happy, safe together.
"Yes," she sends back, few words overflowing with earnest curiosity, caring, and the sort of affection that can only come from those who breathe for connection. "I promise."
There is much to learn.
