Mother's concerns permeated Omen's mind, and they were confused. What was mother feeling? What was it like to have the other that meant the most to you be away from you? Omen didn't understand. They pressed their confusion toward Gwillanth, toward Mother. She didn't really, respond. A friendly nudge, as usual, but Omen wasn't certain where to go with their thoughts from there.

Boy, howdy did Omen have thoughts about rank expectations, or social expectations in general. Would they be expecting the same behavior from both of them? They already knew there were going to be issues... they didn't agree on much.
