2024-07-09 - The Pull of Politeness

Omen was, as with most things, of two minds about the politeness they were learning from interactions with Mother and Mother's-other. Part of them loved the idea of prefacing every question to mother with "Mother may we...", while the other part of them hated it. It was a waste of precious words. They should be concise at all times.

Wordplay was, again, fraught. Sometimes they wanted to be punny, to make smiles and laughter with their words, but at other times they wanted to use as few words as possible.

In the end, like everything else, Omen simply agreed to disagree.
