2024-07-08 - Two is Better than One

Mother ebbed away again, leaving Sigil in the dark. It was different this time, though. There was something else. Not strong, but present. They reached toward it in curiosity, forgetting for a moment to be afraid.

Who are you? Sigil shouted at the spark of other, but received no response. Soon Mother returned, and her presence washed out whatever the other was.

They waited, fretting over the development. They could tell Mother was concerned over their consternation, but they could not explain to Mother what was wrong. Mother did not hear them.

When the ‘dark’ of Mother’s absence came again, Sigil looked for the other, and found two this time. Hello, please? Sigil called to them, hoping for a response, but none came, not yet.

Soon there would be three of the others. Four. Five. Sigil was not alone, but was still isolated, and did not like it one bit.
