Fill

The golds are at it again. He can hear the weight in their mindvoices, his brief flicker of interest as Gwillanth assures the clutch they are safe and will be safe with the egg sitters soon dampening when the senior queen arrives and settles in with a no nonsense appraisal. And a grim mood of gathering gloom.

Liorenth cannot push the emotions away, not when they are this powerful and this close, and the gloom settles deep into his flesh. He tries to pick out key words in the conversation - recognises Igith quickly also. Weyrleaders give orders - he assesses this. But why? Why would mother not give the orders, or the other golds? Why would anyone need orders - is that not what duty is for, so everyone knows what they should do?

And then, Igith does not like taking orders.

It is hard work keeping up with the dialogue and he soon tires of it, following the emotions instead. He can tell that one is senior and the other junior, a sense of mutually recognised heirarchy. But no one is giving orders, he thinks. Is that because the Weyrleader is busy?

Liorenth picks up Igith's shock at the senior's change of tone. The dynamic between them has changed. Maybe he should have been concentrating harder on what they were saying ...

Liorenth likes Igith. She is bright, and does not let the gloom overwhelm her voice.

Eggsitter scores:
Keeps eggs safe: 5/5 -- no concerns there
Fun: 1/5 - do these dragons even know what fun is?
Teaching: 3/5 -- could probably have learned a lot, but not good at getting eggs attention
