2024-07-05 - Needs Patching

It took a while even after the shaking stopped before Jjezreth uncoiled out from inside its own mind.

The first thing it became aware of was a simple but inescapable pain; an empty ache of loss that Jjezreth didn't have any real understanding of. It didn't even have a way to properly identify if the pain it felt was physical or mental – the idea that those were different things hadn't yet fully developed and Jjezreth wasn't eager to investigate the nuances of how and why it felt the way it felt. It just wanted the bad-feelings to go away without the need for any real confrontation.

It just wanted to hide.

What eventually pulled Jjezreth's attention properly outwards was the sensation of an even more profound grief. It was a sensation that only sharpened into understanding when Mother pointed out which of its siblings were gone.

The concept of death clicked into place as neatly as the word itself, both taken directly from Mother's mind once Jjezreth was back to some semblance of awareness.

It reeled at the feeling, desperate to escape but having no real idea how. Jjezreth didn't have an outlet and, despite how badly it did not want to, it was forced to exist in its own reality and stay.
