Seth's memory fades in time. Where once vivid impressions of their fellow dragonets reigned now remained naught but fragments. It had been disconcerting, to come to awareness and realize they could no longer name the three which had been lost. But even that concern ebbed as the dragon's painfully short mind erased them altogether.

The sadness lingers - dragons with longer memories and the human occupants could not quite fully dull that much. But it frustrates Seth to not know why so many are upset.

Distraction comes, not from those around, but from the elements. Sunlight and wind, the cool caress of nightfall.

But oh, the sunlight. Seth feels it, shining bright along their shell. A heat so warm and inviting! It energizes them in a way that cannot be adequately put into words, coursing through them to the point of exhaustion.

The sun is the best part about this new place. The caress of light beams, the vividness that manages to barely touch through the shell itself to illuminate the dragonet within. Some times Seth feels as if they could burst out of their egg and take to the skies then and there! And then, other times, after the energy has had a chance to burn to cinders, a contented drowsiness takes them to slumber - napping in the heat of the noon day.

It is hard to be sad when the sun is there to caress them to sleep, when it shines bright in the sky and welcomes all to share in the delight of the day. Seth hopes they will stay there forever, in the cradle of sunlight and open sky.
