2024-06-27 - Mother and Not-Father - 4.2

It came about as sudden as he had first left, that crashing sensation of love, care and devotion that could only mean one thing, one thing truly; the Favourite has returned! Mother’s joy melded with one’s own, something that was echoed by many even if one didn’t realise it yet, didn’t attune to it quite yet.

As with most things, one had grown used to the Favourite’s absence, at least for the time. It had still been a sting, especially when Mother thought about him so often, but as all things did it settled into the norm. One had no idea how much a ‘sevenday’ truly was, how many discoveries that typically was, but it had to be long if Mother had been so distraught over it.

No matter, Mother was distraught no more and I was happy too! How are you? How was your sevenday? What was it like? Was it fun? Was it warm? Did you miss us too?

It seems that he certainly did, with the sheer amount of affection bubbling within the empty like acid in a cauldron. Acid one was more than happy to submerge himself in. Why wouldn’t he be? Now, they understood what it was like to miss someone, they understood what it was like to yearn for them so deeply and innately. Not as much as Mother, of course, but it was difficult not to understand her feelings when they overcame him like a tidal wave.

There was no answer once again, as there always wasn’t when it came to asking questions, but for once, one found himself content with that. Even if it was just for a moment.
