2024-06-26 - Background Noises

It took a while before Jjezreth actually listened to what Jemeer and his accompanying apprentice was doing rather than being absolutely enraptured by the presence of the new minds.

Jemeer first and then, once Jjezreth realized that his mind was focused on something else, Jjezreth tried to reach out for his apprentice instead. “Hi! Hello! Come here, come closer! Who are you? Let me see, let me see ...”

But the apprentice didn't. Stayed away and didn't pay attention, it was so frustrating! The human minds were occupied with something else and Jjezreth was more preoccupied with sulking than enjoying.

It wasn't sure what there was to enjoy about the vague sense of sound from outside of the egg. Jjezreth was learning how to hear with its mind but it found itself able to physically hear. Sounds were muffled and far less distinct, although Jjezreth had no understanding of why that was the case.

The sound was just … there. Not something that Jjezreth really felt strongly about. The sound caught attention of other minds, pulling them away from the space Jjezreth wanted to exist in. If anything Jjezreth thought it was a bit annoying. As much as it longed for the strange minds to approach and interact, Jjezreth wished these new ones would stop.
