Diath does not understand why Mother is always so happy when the Someone-Who-Makes-Noise comes. Fills the space around Herself with sounds she can't stand.

Worse, he makes Mother make noise as well! Every time that She can remember, without fail! And it brings Mother such peace to join in the noise, the Someones such pleasure to hear it. She does not, cannot understand the appeal, and all the answer She can find is that it is good and right when She knows it is wrong.

She is too polite to push said thoughts in his direction, but still She strains to brush over Noisy-Someone's mind as if She may glean further answers for this cacophony (She doesn't yet know the word, but when she's grown it will be right). He is proud and focused, working hard to make the noise, but still with no reason as to why. What about this made the others happy? Why bother putting such work and pride into noise? Was She going to have to put up with this forever, never knowing when She would next be so assailed?

A troubling thought to have.

Hunkering down within Herself, trying Her best to think loudly enough to drown out the noise, Diath considered that, though She would never want anyone to go away, She would certainly enjoy it if this particular someone would shut up.
