The initial call of the Someone- sudden and booming- is enough to send Her diving for safety out of his way. To hide a moment in cool darkness until his voice is steady through the space to her mind.

'Rocranth'.

Like slipping back into the light She resettles Herself, turning the name in Her mind as the others flair back to life around Her.

It has been a struggle, since Her first true contact with the Someones. She knows which ones she wants to contact by the feel of them, the emotion of them, and can speak to individuals just fine, but speaking of them has been more trouble. Others don't necessarily feel each other the same way She does, and it has made it difficult to specify a topic. But this, a specific thing to be called by... Before now She hasn't paid much mind to the names thrown about among the larger Someones, focused more on emotion, feeling, and more complex and common aspects of communication, but this could be useful.

Yes, yes Rocranth has given himself a name, around Her others do the same, or discuss the concept amongst themselves, and She decides She will too.

But what makes up a name? What name is right? There is only one way she knows to learn, and so she begins to poke and test at the names she knows.

'Rocranth' is good, but... long. Too long. Gwillanth, Yuokajth, certainly Pertemarth. No, Her name must be shorter. Shorter even than Igith and Valyth...

The 'th', the 'th' is right. All the big, clear minds have 'th' and She does not want Her main to be hazy.

The 'a' sounds though. 'RocrAnth'. 'GwillAnth'. 'VAlyth'. 'A' is good, is right.

'Ath'?

No. No, now the name is too short, though She gently sends it drifting in case another wants it. But not for Her, no. Her name needs more.

'Gwillanth'. 'Valyth'. 'Pertemarth'. 'Rocranth'. 'Issrodeth'.

'Shayled'.

'Mi'dar'.

'Dei'r'.

'D'. 'D' sounds good, feels right.

'Adth'? No...

'Dath'? No...

'Da'ath'?

'Adeth'?

'De'ath'?

'Death'?

'Diath'?

Diath. Yes, yes that's right. It feels proper, feels like her. A trill runs through her as she turns it over in her mind. As she reaches out at the start of her next conversation, shining spots in the darkness.

"Call me Diath, please."
