2024-06-23 - 027 - Wiggle Wiggle

With the Child's newfound interest in Mother, she attempted to figure out why Mother came and went.

Mother knew so many things that the Child did not yet, and the obvious way to find what those things were was observation.

So the Child strained, reaching for Mother when she was gone. That was how she noticed that sometimes, when Mother was not there, she could still hear her, just.. distant?

Not entirely gone but not here either.

Movement, from one place to another. Could the Child also move?

Inspecting her self, she attempted to reach for Mother, in both mind and that still nebulous concept of body, abruptly finding the confines of her shell. An outside observer would note that he Desert egg had started rocking slightly, falling forward onto it's side. Inside the egg, the Child was wriggling back and forth, trying to scope out both the confines of her shell, and the reach of her body.
