Something mother said stuck with them, and they thought about it for a long time while she was away. Others. There were others.

Then, one day, the others problem became both more and less of a problem for Omen. Because they could feel the others. They were actually there, outside of themselves.

So many of the others, so many potential words to learn and feelings to encounter. Omen was overwhelmed for a time, and kept to themselves, but it didn't take long before they were reaching for those others again. They couldn't reach them, just feel them, and it was... angry-making. Why couldn't they? They wanted to meet the others that were getting mother's attention!
