Now that it can start to make some sense of the mindvoices that twist and swirl around it, they also become normal. Trying to interpret is difficult, exhausting work. Often the growing creature lets them wash over it like a coverlet, the endless whispers in the dark, white noise, crackles and hums, quieter when mother is away. It has no memory of silence, but dozes and wakes now in the soft chatter.
Emotions though are enticing. Not understood but easier than language. Mother sending lovehopeprotect, sparks of curiousityyesno from others around it, and then there are ... new emotions from others? Emotions and language. Hm.

It recognises mother, of course (of course? how easy this has become) and she is energised, strong emotion, sharp, angrystopworryNONONONONO. Then a response from the other - it responds to HER WORDS,
Words and emotions. Nutshell tries the shape the word, tries to mirror the feeling. Nononononononononono. I say no. It dreams again, curling around the new darling concept of changing the world by the power of no.
