It is in the darkness of mother's absence that Violet Skies first sees them.

Bright pinpricks of consciousness glitter in the distance. The cold dark of aloneness has ceased to be lonely.

It is mesmerized.

Until this moment, it had been the world around which the sun that was mother rose and set, the be all and end all of existence.

Now, there are... other worlds?

Other existences?

It reaches out. It wants to see, hold, touch, explore, subsume itself in the presence of these others but they are so distant and mother's returning presence causes them to dim and disappear, one by one.

In time, it will know the stars even in the light of mother's day.

In time, it will reach them.

For now, however, Violet Skies cries for its siblings in vain.
