Mother soaring through the air, carried by the wind. The forever vastness of blue sky ahead and all around. Blood pumping, body hot from exercise, wings flapping to stay aloft. The cool air feels wonderful against the hide. This was flight, yes? Flight was wonderful, breathtaking! The egg wanted it!
Caramel stirs and rattles within the shell, elated. This one hungers for the escape of flight, certainly anything that meant it wasn't stuck where it was any longer. However, it knows immediately, it does not want to do so alone. It wonders how frenzied and thrilling it would be to play in the sky with another, or with many companions. That was Caramel's prime concern: that the endlessness of sky, while beautiful, should not be so empty.
There is relief when Mother dreams again, when there are flashing glimpses of Others in the air. It cannot make sense of what is nose or wing or tail just yet, but this does not matter. There is joy to be had in a voyage among the clouds with friends. Caramel finds itself impatiently waiting time and again for Mother's deep sleeps, and often sends out lulling encouragement back to Mother to rest. An awful influence for a selfish gain.
Caramel reaches out with its line toward the distant motes of Others, oozing confidence and certainty:
Fly with me. One day, us!
