2024-06-07 - 027 - Cold Snap

Suddenly, in the Child's unchanging eternity, a shift. As all things must eventually, it changed. From warm, suffocating and soothing in turns, to a sudden shock of cold. Adrift and alone for the first time, the Child wasn't sure what to make of things. It was nice, soothing. It was also terrifying. certainly, she had wanted and needed an escape from the eternity, but that didn't mean she didn't also want to keep things the same. What if the warm never came back? The cold started to seep in, alien and terrifying.

Was this Change all there is now? Was she destined to suffer in the Cold as she had in the Warm?
And then Mother came back, and as abruptly as the Cold came, it went.
