2024-06-06 - To Become

It happens when She is away and what is is cold and empty. It's not notable at first - a slight change in what is, a shift in what can be possible. If something compels Her to leave, She cannot be all there is. If She is not all there is... What else is there? Is whatever else there is more or less than She?

What is She? The thought twists and turns and solidifies the longer the warmth is away. It grows and expands until what is has changed entirely - no longer reliant on Her, but on something else entirely. But on what? There is Her, and there is Not Her, but this feels incomplete. If that was all there was to it, it would be known what draws her away time and time again. But known by what?

It awakens, and the answer is so obvious and overwhelming it immediately becomes impossible to comprehend that things were ever different. It is part of what is - me, myself, I - and it is the third answer to the puzzle. There is Her, there is Not Her, and there is it. This is taken in stride as all things are. It has no power to change what is and never has, but now it has taken its place as part of everything and that is, as much as it can comprehend the emotion, a joy.
