Eureka.

The ‘something’ is recognisable when it comes and goes. How is the maybe-person-egg able to recognise Warm-Something except by being outside of that Thing? Ergo: eureka.

It is a snap, a spark, a defining moment. The flick of a switch and the birth of a star. It is!

It’s not a happy moment, or a sad moment, it simply is. Relief may be the closest thing the maybe-person-egg experiences after so much build up of energy and possibility, but that is also neither positive nor negative. The time before knowing Warmth was not negative, was it?

This sudden sense of self, this knowing, comes with a cascade of other realisations. All of a sudden, things it had never been capable of noticing because they were taken for granted as being a part of a whole, are noticed. This is the rush of its heartbeat. These are the degrees of separation between itself and Warm-Something, who fades and strengthens in ways it doesn’t understand. It does not fade and strengthen. It always is.

There’s even more unknowable things looming – if the sometimes scraping-rushing-roar is not itself, what is it? – but there is no rush now the internal system has achieved Itself. There is plenty to scrutinise and experiment with right here in the growing idea of its own being.
